Hello Everyone. Hope you are all doing great. Surprisingly, I have received a lot of questions from men regarding cleansing products, taking care of skin, avoiding oil and acne e.t.c
So I decided to cover this topic in this post. Taking care of skin is just as important for men as it is for women and there's nothing to feel ashamed about. In fact, men experience skin problems, 50 times more than women do.
You can avoid 90% of these skin related problems just by proper cleansing and using SPF!
A man's skin is 10 times thicker than a female skin. Male's sebaceous glands are more active than female's which produces more sebum, which produces more oil in the skin and When the oil and dirt mix up, the skin start to break out and is very vulnerable to acne. It also makes your complexion darker. There are a lot of factors that are responsible for skin problems but lets cut to the chase! There are 3 things, you need to take care of for a sexy, oil-free, acne-free skin.
1- Cleansing:
Since your skin is thick, i would recommend you some very effective exfoliating cleansers. Use them at least twice everyday.
Baxter of California
It's a heavy and very effective facial scrub for men. The kind of that you want to use after a gym session but the best thing is that it's made from natural components like walnut, aloe juice and honey,
Acqua di Parma
Best for everyday use!
Bulldog Skin Care for Men
Men love bull dogs right?
Monty Python - Best Cleanser for Oily Skin
It is made from tea tree leaves, Shea butter and crushed nutshells. Best for oily skin.
KIEHL'S - Best for Stubbly Skin or Facial Hair
Su-Man - Best for Tired Skin
Ole Henriksen - Best for a Big Event
Most of the Hollywood hunks use this facial cleanser on big events. They recommend that you use start using them every night, around 5 days before the big event.
2- SPF
Most of the skin damage occur due to exposure to the sun. That is why it is very important that you wear your SPF on exposed areas before you go out.
Here are some SPFs that I recommend.
- Dove Men Care Hydrate Lotion and SPF (30)
- Lab Series SPF 35 BB Tinted
- Clinique for Men M Protect
- Dermalogica Pure Light
Facial Masks
Well yes! there are facial masks for men too and they are very helpful. I received a question from someone and that person told his skin produces lot of oil after he shaves. If you use a mud facial mask, it will absorb all the oil leaving your skin smooth and besides, no one needs to know that you use facial masks ;)
Here are some recommendations!
- Kyoku for Men Lava Masque
2- Perricone MD Chloro Plasma Mask
3- Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care- Cucumber Gel Mask
P.S My recommendation is based on my research.
